Professor Mohan Krishnamoorthy – (Pro Vice-Chancellor Major Industry Partnerships)

Professor Mohan Krishnamoorthy is Pro Vice-Chancellor Major Industry Partnerships at Monash University. From 2009 to 2015 Mohan was the inaugural CEO of The IITB-Monash Research Academy.

Professor Krishnamoorthy was Acting CEO of The Academy for the period October 2008 to October 2009. He was, at the same time, the Associate Dean Research, Faculty of Engineering, Monash University.

Prior to joining Monash University, Mohan Krishnamoorthy worked at CSIRO, Australia from 1992.

After securing his PhD from Imperial College London, in 1990, Professor Krishnamoorthy taught Operations Research at the University of Kent, Canterbury from 1991 to 1992.

His research interests lie in the use of advanced mathematical, statistical, simulation and optimisation models to turn data into information that can be used to make better decisions. He has published over 100 papers in the areas of scheduling, rostering, location optimisation and hub location.

His ambition is for Monash University to be strongly connected with global organisations and generate impact for industry and society through large-scale, goal-focused and use-inspired research programs.
