Pro Vice-Chancellor (Quality)
Professor Graham Webb was appointed to the position of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Quality) in January 2004. His responsibilities include:
- providing leadership and support for quality assurance and improvement in all areas of the university's operations including learning and teaching, research and research training and support services; and
- oversight of the Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT) and
the Centre for Higher Education Quality (CHEQ).
Professor Webb joined Monash in 1997 as the establishment Professor and Director of the Centre for Higher Education Development.
He has a BA (Hons) from the University of Coventry, a Master of Science from the University of Birmingham and a PhD in Education (with distinction) from the University of the West Indies. His career in higher education spans more than 30 years and includes 11 years at the University of Otago in New Zealand, six years at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica and seven years at the University of Ulster.
Professor Webb is an author/editor of nine books and numerous book chapters and articles on the theory and practice of university teaching and learning, and university organisational and staff development. He is a member of four International Editorial Advisory Boards and four professional bodies.
Professor Webb has chaired audits for the Australian Universities Quality Agency and is a consultant on higher education in a number of countries.
