Dr Anusorn Sangnimnuan
Dr Anusorn Sangnimnuan (PhD 1985) has been President and Secretary of one of Thailand's major petroleum refineries - Bangchak Petroleum - since 2005.
After a period at ESSO Standard Thailand Limited, Dr Sangnimnuan joined Bangchak Petroleum as a senior engineer in 1985.
He has a PhD in chemical engineering from Monash University. He has also completed degrees including a Master of Environmental Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (1980) and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University (1976).
Dr Sangnimnuan has been a Member of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, the country’s parliament, and a Member and Secretary of the Assembly’s Committee on Energy.
He is also a member of the School of Environment, Resources and Development Board, Asian Institute of Technology.
Dr Sangnimnuan has initiated several renewable energy initiatives at Bangchak Petroleum including the introduction of a new ethanol-petrol blend (E20) and a campaign to encourage Thais to recycle cooking oil for bio-diesel production.
Dr Sangnimnuan received the Asia Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the 2008 Asia Business Leaders Awards for “his ability to translate (Bangchak Petroleum’s) success into benefits for the community”.
