For the past 25 years, Ms Sue Fennessy has thrived as a senior business leader and entrepreneur in technology, data, media, and content businesses. Ms Fennessy is the Founder and Executive Chair of Weare8, a social platform supported by over 300 brands and celebrities that centres on empowering and inspiring the individual.
Ms Fennessy is also the CEO of Standard Media Index (SMI), a global ad spend data business with exclusive contracts with five media agency holding companies, headquartered in New York City. SMI services media, technology and finance companies by providing accuracy and visibility into the performance of the advertising market and the performance of every media owner.
Prior to SMI, in late 2000, Ms Fennessy founded Frontiers Group, a Sport, Media and Technology business, based in Shanghai. Frontiers brokered the broadcasting contracts for the 2002 and 2006 World Cup TV rights, created multiple lifestyle TV programs, and brought the first Broadway musicals “Cats” and “Les Misérables” to China by redistributing the traditional commercial model.
In 1989, she founded MM Communications which had three offices in Asia Pacific and over 100 clients. Ms Fennessy was the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman for 10 years before selling to Clemenger/BBDO in 2000.
Ms Fennessy currently resides in Greenwich, Connecticut USA, with her husband and three sons.
