Mr Wai-Kwong Seck is the Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific, for State Street Corporation.  He is also a member of State Street’s Management Committee, the company’s most senior strategy and policy-making team.

Prior to joining State Street in September 2011, Mr Seck was Chief Financial Officer of the Singapore Exchange for eight years.  He was co-head of Investment Banking and head of Wealth Management at Singapore’s DBS Bank, and before that an investment banker with Lehman Brothers in Hong Kong and Singapore.  He began his career with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and then the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) where he was head of fixed income and subsequently private equity.

Mr Seck is a member of the Board Risk Committee at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.  He also chairs the Investment Committee and is also a trustee of the Singapore Police pension fund.  He serves on the Board of Regents of Trinity International University in Illinois, and was appointed to the Board of Governors of the Singapore International School in Hong Kong.  He was also recently appointed a member of the MAS Financial Centre Advisory Panel.

Mr Seck earned a Bachelor of Economics with first-class honors from Monash University and a Master of Business Administration (with Distinction) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He is married to Tan Lye Kean, also a graduate of Monash University, and they now reside in Hong Kong where they enjoy hiking, travel photography and reading.  They have three adult children, making them a family of five in four locations on three continents.
