This edition of Alumni News follows Graduation Week when 3,000 graduates filed into Robert Blackwood Hall to celebrate the completion of their Monash degree. We also use this occasion to celebrate the contributions of our alumni and friends through the presentation of Monash Fellowships, Honorary Fellowships and Distinguished Alumni Awards. Read more.

Celebrating graduations and our new alumni

Graduation ceremonies are a time to formally acknowledge the achievements of each graduate, and celebrate the closure of their studies and the beginning of the next stage of their lives. The celebrations were captured on Monash Alumni Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

  Monash Fellowships add to graduation week celebrations

This year’s Fellowships recognise leaders in law, national security, journalism, children’s welfare, investment banking, and medicine, and were presented alongside graduating students last Wednesday evening. Read more.

Distinguished Alumni Awards announced

Last week Monash announced the recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards which acknowledge the outstanding contributions of alumni worldwide and recognise the positive impact these individuals have on their community. Read more.

  Hong Kong alumni raise $HK1m scholarship

Kristy Lin from Belilios Public School in North Point, Hong Kong, will be joining the Monash Faculty of Law in 2017 to study a four year degree fully supported by the scholarship. Read more.

  Success at Monash Global Leaders Summit

The inaugural Summit held in September brought influential alumni back into the Monash conversation through campus tours, faculty information sessions and discussions on alumni needs, philanthropy and workforce ready graduates. Read more.

  Monash University Alumni Singapore award

The MUAS team were in attendance at the Australian Alumni Singapore Gala Dinner to receive the Outstanding Australian University Alumni Association Award presented by Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr S. Iswaran and Australian High Commissioner, His Excellency Philip Green.

  Yulendj Making a Difference book launch

The Monash University Indigenous Engagement Unit, Yulendj, hosted the launch of its commissioned book, Making a Difference: Fifty Years of Indigenous Programs at Monash University 1964-2014 in the Matheson Library on 27 October. Over 100 people came together to celebrate the work by Dr Rani Kerin including Emeritus Professor Colin Burke MBE and Professor Eve Fesl AM, all pictured.
