Gaokao entry scores are now accepted for the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture, Arts, Education and Information Technology.

Undergraduate entry requirements for Chinese students

Monash University welcomes applications from students who have completed the Gao Kao qualification from China for direct entry into undergraduate degrees for the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture
  • Faculty of Arts
  • Faculty of Education
  • Faculty of Information Technology

All applicants are required to successfully satisfy the minimum academic entrance requirement, pre-requisites (including English language requirements), and any additional criteria required for the course they have applied for.

Details of the specific academic entry requirements for 2013 for the faculties listed above will be published on this website shortly. The Gao Kao academic entry requirement scores and pre-requisites are subject to change annually.

In most cases, students from China must have completed at least one year of university level study at a recognised Chinese university before they can be considered for direct admission to Monash University. Course entry requirements vary and applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Postgraduate entry for Chinese students

To be admitted to a Masters degree you must have a competed Bachelors degree from a recognised Chinese university. Applications to Masters programs are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

English language proficiency requirements

All Monash applicants must satisfy the minimum English language requirements of the university

Please note: some postgraduate courses have higher TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge English score requirements.

Note: for applicants whose secondary schooling was not entirely in English, any result or qualification listed above must have been gained or completed within the two years prior to commencement of the course in which enrolment is sought.
