Is altruism a truism?

Chair and Respondent

Professor Adam Shoemaker
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education)

The Monash-Oxfam Partnership, formerly established in 2008, was the first such partnership to be signed by any University in this country with Oxfam Australia. The partnership is bound by a Memorandum of Understanding that provides opportunities for students and staff to engage the world and help improve the human condition. The University's comprehensive relationship with Oxfam Australia involves student internships, volunteering opportunities, plans for collaborative research and curriculum development and campaign cooperation. One year on, we celebrate the achievements and milestones.

Some of the inaugural Oxfam student interns will highlight their experiences in South Africa. The 14 new Oxfam interns for 2010 will also be introduced.
