Matthew Henderson

Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours)

Matthew Henderson knew that engineering was the right choice for him when he left high school. Monash was his first preference due to it being widely recognised as providing one of the best engineering programs in Australia.

Now Matthew is working as a project engineer within the mining industry in iron ore.

“I manage the delivery of small to medium sized sustaining capital projects. I develop projects from concept, through study phases to funding approval, and then through construction to hand over to operations.”

“I enjoy being able to see projects that I have developed being constructed into assets, creating value, and achieving their designed performance outcomes.”

“Engineering has been great for me, especially because it has allowed me to work in the mining industry during this exciting boom with unprecedented growth and large scale problems to solve.”

Matthew hopes to stay in the mining industry and play a role in improving processes through the use of automation in large scale infrastructure projects.
