On the day of your IELTS test

  • Please arrive at 7.45am at the test venue. See locations for the morning registration details.
  • The speaking test is held in the afternoon from 1pm to 5pm and takes 11 to 14 minutes. See locations.
  • 12 July Test: Speaking Tests will be held on the afternoon of Saturday July 12 and all day Sunday July 13. Candidates will be advised which date they are to attend but must be available for both.
  • 21 August Test: Speaking tests will be held on Sunday 17 August, Monday 18 August to Friday 22 August, Saturday 23 August, Saturday 23 August and Sunday 24 August. Candidates will be advised which date they are to attend.
  • Coats, jackets, bags, mobile phones and pencil cases are not permitted in the test room and must be left in the secure area provided. Please dress warmly at colder times of the year.

The test is conducted in the following order.

Listening   -  test time: 30 minutes
Reading    -  test time: 60 minutes
Writing     -  test time: 60 minutes
Speaking  -  test time: 11-14 minutes
