Background

I have taught English Language and Literature for ten years in High Schools in NSW and VIC; numeracy and literacy in TAFE Colleges in Ballarat and Adelaide; been a paralegal secretary for one year in Adelaide before moving into Workplace Education in that city. Learning Vietnamese language took me overseas in 1993 to teach English and Business in Vietnam for two years. I then taught English at the Islamic University in Malaysia; went to the UK to study for the Masters degree and back to Thailand to teach Business for two years at Assumption University, Bangkok. I returned to Australia in 2000 and since then, have been teaching GE and Bridging at this centre.

Professional Interests

Besides a lifelong interest in Education, I love to read in the areas of politics, psychology, science and spirituality. My major interest is in Buddhism and meditation.

Other Interests

I'm not exactly 'sporty' but have got into Australian rules football via the staff tipping competition! Not being born in Victoria, I have had to 'adopt' a team so now call myself a Blues (Carlton) supporter.

I have also been involved in Aboriginal and Refugee issues in the past
