Background

I became interested in TESOL while travelling through Europe and the United Kingdom. In 1999 I decided to complete the Trinity Certificate in Budapest, Hungary through a London based school, Oxford College. This was a challenging experience, which enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of how ESL students must feel studying, adjusting to a new country and learning a new language all at the same time. In 2000, I moved to South Korea to work for ELS International (YBM Sisa) as an EFL instructor for a year.

Since joining the language centre I have taught on all of the programs and I have been involved in materials development for CALL. I was the editor of our E-News and Views online newsletter for four years. I am currently the Assistant Director of Studies for the General English and English for Tertiary Preparation programs.

Professional Interests

Through my involvement in CALL at MUELC I have developed an interest into how the Internet and online learning can develop learners' communicative abilities and critical thinking skills.

Other Interests

I am interested in travelling, movies, music, cooking and gaining a deeper understanding of other cultures and countries.
