This Part shall apply to all trades and services staff engaged in catering and/or retail services (including Tea Attendants) but does not extend to Sports Control Desk staff employed within the Sports and Recreation Centre on Clayton Campus.
88. COFFEE BREAK FOR FULL-TIME MONASH UNICOMM CATERING STAFF
Full-time Monash Unicomm catering staff are entitled to two paid 10-minute coffee breaks daily.
89. WORK BREAK FOR PART-TIME SEASONAL AND CASUAL MONASH UNICOMM CATERING STAFF
Part-time seasonal or casual Monash Unicomm catering staff and part-time or casual retail services staff (including part-time seasonal Monash Unicomm retail services staff) are entitled to a 10-minute break after working three hours (or two 10-minute breaks where an 8-hour shift is worked).
90. MULTI-HIRE ARRANGEMENTS FOR FULL-TIME MONASH UNICOMM CATERING STAFF
All full-time Monash Unicomm catering staff may elect to earn extra income by being engaged under multi-hire arrangements to work on Saturdays or Sundays, but only where the salary rate for the staff member's full-time appointment exceeds that of the multi-hire engagement.
The following penalty rates based on the salary rate for the staff member's full-time appointment will be paid for multi-hire work performed:
- Saturday - time and a half for all hours worked where the staff member was employed prior to or on 25 November 1997 or time and one quarter for all hours worked where the staff member was employed after 25 November 1997; and
- Sunday - time and three quarters for all hours worked.
Such penalty rates will be paid as overtime.
91. MULTI-HIRE ARRANGEMENTS FOR CASUAL MONASH UNICOMM CATERING STAFF
All casual Monash Unicomm catering staff may elect to earn extra income by being engaged under multi-hire arrangements to work on Saturdays or Sundays, but only where the salary rate for the staff member's casual appointment exceeds that of the multi-hire engagement.
The following penalty rates based on the salary rate for the staff member's casual appointment will be paid for multi-hire work performed:
- Saturday - time and a quarter for all hours worked; and
- Sunday - time and a half for all hours worked.
