Part 3 - Conditions applying to catering and retail staff

Section 7 - Retail Services Staff Only

  1. Work Break for Retail Services Staff
  2. Weekend Work for Retail Services Staff other than Monash Unicomm Staff

This Part shall apply to all trades and services staff engaged in catering and/or retail services (including Tea Attendants) but does not extend to Sports Control Desk staff employed within the Sports and Recreation Centre on Clayton Campus.

92. WORK BREAK FOR RETAIL SERVICES STAFF

Full-time retail services staff are entitled to two paid 10-minute coffee breaks daily. Part-time or casual retail services staff (including part-time seasonal Monash Unicomm retail services staff) are entitled to a 10-minute break after working three hours (or two 10-minute breaks where an 8-hour shift is worked).

93. WEEKEND WORK FOR RETAIL SERVICES STAFF OTHER THAN MONASH UNICOMM STAFF

The following rates will apply for ordinary hours worked on weekends:

  • Saturday - time and a half
  • Sunday - double time
