Conditions applying in common to all trades and services staffThis Part shall apply in common to all trades and services staff except where otherwise expressly provided.
Section 6 - Miscellaneous Items
59. Provision of Uniforms and Protective Clothing
59.1 Uniforms will be issued to staff on the following basis :
Building and metal trades staff (as defined under Part 3 of this Agreement) and grounds and gardening staff other than Sports and Recreation Association grounds staff
On commencement
- Bomber jacket x 1 (or equivalent non-nylon jacket without metal zips)
Annually
- Jumpers/windcheaters x 2
- Overalls x 2
- Safety shoes x 1 pair
- Shirts x 3
- Trousers x 2
All jumpers/windcheaters, overalls and shirts to be supplied with sewn name identification to assist security arrangements in the identification of staff work ing in other departments and faculties and across campuses.
All items supplied either on commencement or annually subject to replacement where necessary if ripped or otherwise damaged.
Sports and Recreation Association grounds and gardening staff
Gloves x 1 pair, hat x 1, overalls x 1, and safety boots x 1 pair on commencement and replacement thereafter as and when required.
59.2 Protective clothing and equipment (SAA approved) in addition to any uniforms issued will be provided to staff as and when req uired to satisfy the University's statutory occupational health and safety obligations. This may include safety helmets, ear/hearing protection, gloves, goggles, gum boots and skin protective cream/sunscreen (15+ rating). In addition one pair of UV-rated safety glasses or UV-rated clip-ons suitable to overlay prescription spectacles shall be made available for work on metal decking, large concrete slabs exposed to sunlight, roofing, and/or curtain walling.
59.3 All items of uniforms and/or protective cl othing issued to staff by the University shall remain the property of the University during the staff member's Employment with the University and are required to be returned to the University by the staff member upon the Termination of his/her Employment, except where such requirement is waived by the staff member's supervisor. |
