Travel

It's important to plan how you will be travelling to and from your exams so you can arrive on time. You need to factor in peak hour traffic, parking restrictions and public transport timetables (especially on public holidays).

Public transport

If taking public transport, check for any planned works on train or tram lines. This information, along with timetables, maps and a journey planner, can be found on the Public Transport Victoria website.

Protective Service Officers are stationed at all premium railway stations including Caulfield and regularly patrol trains to and from this station.

Check the list of public transport services running to and from Caulfield campus.

Inter-campus shuttle bus

Regular, free shuttle buses run to and from the Berwick, Peninsula and Caulfield campuses via the Clayton campus. A bus also runs from Peninsula campus to Frankston Railway Station.

Buses fill quickly at busy times but leave about every 17 minutes. Just show your Monash student card to use the service. See the inter-campus shuttle bus timetable.

Evening exams shuttle bus service

As well as the existing inter-campus buses,  extra bus services will run express to and from the Clayton campus bus loop to the Caulfield Racecourse exam venue. See below for the timetable.

Campus security bus service

Security buses operate on our Clayton and Caulfield campuses from 5.30pm to midnight, Monday to Friday. They leave about every 30 minutes.

See the security website for more information, including the bus routes for the campus security bus.

Evening exams security bus service

Extra security buses will be available for students leaving an evening exam.

Caulfield
If you park within 2km of the Caulfield Racecourse, you can be collected from the Maple Entry in the Kambrook Road car park and dropped off to your car or to one of the stops on the campus security bus route. See the Caulfield map of security bus stops (pdf 570kb).

Clayton
If you take the shuttle bus back to Clayton campus, a security bus service will be available from the Bus Loop. This can take you to the car parks on and off-campus or to the Halls of Residence. A security guard will be present to assist you in connecting with the campus security bus  service. See the Clayton map of security bus stops (pdf 242kb).

The evening security buses are available between 7 - 10pm on the days that evening exams are scheduled. The security bus runs roughly every 20 minutes. Travel time is around 10 to 15 minutes. These times may vary depending on traffic and passenger numbers.
