As exams near, it's time to start planning how you're going to get to your exams. They're stressful enough without the worry of getting stuck in traffic or finding a car park.
This year traffic will be congested and parking limited around Caulfield Racecourse, due to residential developments in the area. Don't risk getting stuck in a traffic jam, missing out on a car park and being late for your exam.
Save yourself the stress and consider some of these alternative transport options.
Good for the environment and for you. You can do some more exam prep or simply relax on the way to your exam.
Timetables, maps and a journey planner, can be found on the Public Transport Victoria website. You can also check for any planned works on the train and tram lines. Protective Service Officers are stationed at all premium railway stations including Caulfield and regularly patrol trains to and from this station.
Here's a list of public transport services running to and from Monash campuses.
Free parking at OC1 car park
During exams, you can park for free in the OC1 car park (corner of Wellington and Blackburn Rds), then catch a free shuttle bus from the campus bus interchange to the Caulfield campus. The first shuttle leaves at 8am.
The walk from the OC1 car park to the bus interchange takes about 10 - 15 minutes.
For evening exams, the shuttle buses go directly to and from the Caulfield Racecourse exam venue.
Inter-campus shuttle bus
As well as the free park and ride service, you can also catch one of the regular free shuttle buses that run to and from the Berwick, Peninsula and Caulfield campuses via the Clayton campus bus interchange. A bus also runs from Peninsula campus to Frankston Railway Station.
Buses leave about every 17 minutes between Caulfield and Clayton. Just show your M-Pass to use the service.
See the inter-campus shuttle bus timetable.
Campus security bus service
If you're returning to Caulfield or Clayton campus after your evening exam, you can hop on one of the free Monash Security buses and they'll take you back to Halls of Residence or the car parks on and around your campus. They run every 30 minutes from 5.30pm to midnight, Monday to Friday.
If you are considering driving to your exam, please be aware that parking options will vary depending on your exam venue.
