We're a global university, so we measure ourselves against international - as well as Australian - standards. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, we're in the top one per cent of world universities. In fact, this year we jumped up more than 60 places, consolidating our position amongst the world's very best.
In Australia, we have maximum five-star ratings from the Good Universities Guide in important categories such as ‘Staff-student ratios’ and ‘Cultural diversity’. We also have four-star ratings in ‘Graduate satisfaction’ and ‘Staff qualifications’.
While ratings are important, we care as much about your individual experience as we do about our position in global rankings. Monash gives you opportunities that don't affect our rankings, but will enrich your life as a student and improve your resume as a graduate.
As a Monash student, the world is your campus.
Thanks to research, student exchange programs and an ever-growing network of graduates, the University’s links with people and organisations extend throughout Asia, Europe, America, Africa and the Middle-East.
We've got exchange agreements with more than 115 universities in 25 countries, and our inter-campus exchange programs let you experience South Africa, Malaysia or even Italy while still studying at Monash.
That means, once you graduate, a Monash qualification gives you a competitive edge in the international marketplace.

Monash University has come in as the top Australian university, according to the New York Times’ Emerging/Trendence Global Employability Ranking published in October this year.
The ranking involved surveying hundreds of CEOs and chairpersons in 10 countries about the top universities from which they recruited. Monash ranked #47 overall, and #3 outside of North America and Europe.
The study assists recruiters and prospective students choose the best University in terms of graduate employability:
“While business leaders and human resource directors say they have their own criteria for selecting candidates from a pool of applicants,” writes Christopher Schuetze at the New York Times, “few deny the significant role played by the school in a company’s selection process.”
