# Student contribution amount (SCA) calculator

## For 2017

If you're in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP), units fall into one of three bands. The band determines the student contribution amount (SCA) for the unit. Amounts listed in the table are based on a standard, full-time enrolment (48 credit points per year) with units in the same band. You can use the calculator to find out your SCA for units from different bands.

## Using the calculator

1. Enter your unit credit points in the corresponding band
2. Click the Calculate button
3. Your study load and SCA will appear. Refer to your commencement year for the correct amount

Check the online handbook for your unit's SCA band, credit point and Equivalent full-time student load (EFTSL) details.

Example:

1. Madeline commences a Bachelor of Education in 2017; where she enrols in one education unit and one science unit. Her student contribution amount (SCA) for 2017 is calculated as follows:

(1 x 0.125 = 0.125 x \$6,349 = \$793) + (1 x 0.125 = 0.125 x \$9,050 = \$1,131) = \$1,924

2. Anthony commenced a Bachelor of Education in 2009; this year he enrols in one education unit and one science unit. His student contribution amount (SCA) for 2017 is calculated as follows:

(1 x 0.125 = 0.125 x \$5,081 = \$635) + (1 x 0.125 = 0.125 x \$9,050 = \$1,131) = \$1,766
