Supporting new fathers in the workplace

Audience: All staff
Cost:  Free in 2017 - subsidised by Athena SWAN
Expression of interest: Online form

Content overview:

Modern dads are spending more time with their children while balancing their career, often with little reduction in their work fraction or access to a support network. Research studies show that fathers’ engagement in child rearing positively affects the children’s developmental outcomes  but also has a positive impact on the mother’s career options.

The session is designed for new fathers looking for strategies to successfully manage both their professional and personal lives and who would like to more effectively manage expectations of self and others. Participants will be able to discuss any work-life conflicts caused by competing needs in their  lifestyle, including guilt and shifting priorities.
