  • About White Ribbon Campaign

    White Ribbon is Australia’s only national, male-led campaign to end men’s violence against women and the world’s largest movement of men and boys promoting gender equality, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity. It encourages men to take a stand and say that violence, in any form, is never acceptable.

    White Ribbon At Monash

    Monash University was one of the first organisations in Australia to be accredited as a White Ribbon Workplace, demonstrating our commitment to making workplaces safer for women. In March 2017, Monash was granted White Ribbon reaccreditation for the next three years.

  • Family Violence Policy

    We recognise that staff members regardless of their gender sometimes experience situations of violence or abuse in their personal life constituting family violence that may affect their attendance or performance at work. We have practical in place to support staff who experience family violence.

  • White Ribbon Day events

    In support of the White Ribbon Campaign, Monash hosts a university-wide event each year to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, known as White Ribbon Day. View a summary and a video from our 2015 and 2016 events. 

    White Ribbon 2017 will take place on the 27 November.

  • Safer Community Unit

    Safer Community Unit provides expert advice, support, intervention, investigation and risk management to reduce the risk to staff, students and the organisation of inappropriate and threatening behaviour. They offer a range of services, including Family Violence Contact Officers.

  • Family & Sexual Violence Workshop

    This workshop covers information regarding what is sexual assault and family violence, how to identify the signs of family violence and how to manage and support an individual who discloses that they are a victim of sexual assault or family violence and what support services are available.
