Outsourcing: realising benefits
and the trend to microsourcing
Outsourcing of business processes, ranging from call centres, CRM, back
office functions and IT datacentres, is the fastest growing business strategy
employed by successful businesses all over the world. Monash University’s
Faculties of Information Technology and Business and Economics conduct
extensive research into the management and benefits of outsourcing
practice. We invite you to join us at a complimentary Breakfast Briefing
where three leading experts will share their extensive knowledge with you:
Professor Rudy Hirschheim is a distinguished professor at Louisiana State University
(USA) and a leading international thinker and contributor to the field of Information Systems.
Outsourcing has been a major focus of Professor Hirschheim’s work for the last two
decades where his expertise has been sought by many large organisations in the USA.
He will provide insights into the pitfalls and latest trends eg: micro-outsourcing.
Andy Zaple is the director of The Pitt Crew consulting organisation based in Sydney.
Andy has worked in and around the outsourcing industry for 20 years, initially in commercial
management for IBM and AT&T. More recently, as a consultant, he has assisted outsourcing
vendors and their clients in Australia and NZ. His presentation will focus on governance and
service level management: ensuring that the outsourcing relationship continues to deliver
benefits over the long term.
Martin Conboy is well recognised by industry and media as one of the leading voices in
the outsourcing industry and its role in facilitating business process outsourcing success
throughout the Asia Pacific. Martin has over 16 years’ experience at a senior level in the
market research industry and has spent the last 11 years analysing and publicly commenting
on the Call Centre and outsourcing sectors across the Asia Pacific. He is also the president
