Europe Network seminar

Research collaboration with Europe: opportunities, prospects, and challenges

This Europe Network seminar was held on Tuesday 31 July. Links to video and audio of the session will be online shortly.

About the seminar

This seminar featured presentations by representatives from the European Commission Delegation to Australia and FEAST (Forum for Europe-Australia Science and Technology Cooperation), with expert panel input from Monash researchers involved in European projects.

Topics covered included:

  • the structure of the European research system;
  • the current state of collaborative activity;
  • some major opportunities for collaboration;
  • Australian support sources for collaborative research; and
  • Experiences of Monash researchers.

Schemes covered include: the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme (FP7), COST, and EU Member state opportunities, along with schemes that support researcher exchange and mobility.

This seminar was jointly presented by FEAST and the European Commission in collaboration with the Offices of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Monash University, and the Monash European and EU Centre.
