Text versionThe future at Monash seems unlimited. Australia's National Synchrotron is being built at Monash. Synchrotron light technology is crucial to the discovery of new drugs, innovative new materials and even a breakthrough in the fight against cancer. Voice-over about the Synchrotron: "So it's going to be right here. It's going to attract a lot of scientists from around Australia but also tracking scientists will come in from nearby, from Japan, and from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, US colleagues will come here to use that facility, and there will be again a tremendous energy centered around that." The Monash Science, Technology, Research and Innovation precinct will place science-based businesses in a fertile partnership with the best of university research and technology. Monash is even protecting the future of many of the world's animals, by holding stored genetic material of endangered species. It's this kind of research and innovation that sets Monash apart. Monash offers the best of both worlds. A strong, traditional university with a modern, cutting-edge approach. Monash is recognised for excellence in teaching, learning, research, and graduates. Perhaps the best gauge of the excellence of a Monash education is results. On average, nearly 90 per cent of Monash students find full-time employment or go on to higher level study. Professor Alan Trounson, Stem Cell Sciences, Monash University said: "These people who populate from the Vice-Chancellor down through the deans and into teachers into the university, the lectures and the tutors -- they come because they've got that spirit. They've got wisdom and they actually care for young people. They want to open people's minds. They want to actually take the bright ideas and make them flourish. That's what this university's about. Monash is proud to be a University spanning many nations, cultures and disciplines. A community of students, teaching staff, researchers, alumni and many partners around the world. Student said: "Yeah, I absolutely recommend Monash, no doubt about it." Monash University -- proud to be amongst the world's best and always inspired by its founding principle 'Ancora Imparo' -- I am still learning. |
