Education and research collaborations

Monash University works with international partners to deliver international solutions.

Malaria research

Monash researchers are collaborating with Associate Professor Chwee-Teck Lim from the National University of Singapore to uncover how malaria parasites infect humans and why malaria kills up to 3 million children each year.

Collaboration with China

Monash has agreed to jointly pursue an integrated program of research activities in Ageing and Primary Care with China Capital Medical, Peking University and Sichuan University (The Monash China Ageing and Primary Health Care Research Program). Monash has already signed formal collaboration agreements with China Capital Medical University and Sichuan University. Discussions with Peking University are in progress.

Aerospace education

Monash University is working with the Department of Aerospace Engineering in the University of Glasgow to teach a Master of Aerospace Engineering. The course comprises eight coursework units and is designed to equip graduates with the appropriate engineering skills to pursue a career in the aerospace industry.

Climate change research

Three of Australia's top universities have formed an alliance to spearhead national leadership in climate change research, education and policy. Comprising Monash University, the University of New South Wales and the Australian National University, the Universities Climate Consortium (UCC) builds on three years of collaborative work and consolidates a significant grouping of strategic skills, resources and institutional investment on climate-related issues.

E-research infrastructure

Monash researchers are active members of an international team
building e-Research infrastructure and applications. The Pacific Rim
Applications and Grid Middleware Assembly
(PRAGMA) is a consortium of
29 institutions, spanning large parts of Asia and North America. Members perform research on software infrastructure, contribute resources to a testbed, and host a number of working group meetings. PRAGMA co-ordinates a program in which undergraduate students from the University of California, San Diego undertake research projects at Monash over the northern summer.
