Peer Mentor ProgramAbout the Peer Mentor ProgramThe HWD Peer Mentor Program is designed to assist new International students to settle into their studies and become independent. The program is highly valued by Monash University and provides a welcoming environment for new students. Mentors will use their experience and knowledge to guide new students through the first six weeks of their course. The program includes a series of fun and informative social functions and seminars. These weekly activities are a great opportunity for participants to broaden their social networks and learn more about life in Australia. Peer MentorsMentors will enjoy the satisfaction of helping others and learn professional skills such as working in a team, inter-cultural awareness and communication strategies. Mentors can be local or international students. The program includes leadership and cultural awareness training and certificates. Requirements If you want to become a Mentor, complete the Mentor online application form. Mentees (New Students)Mentees will benefit from having someone they can ask questions and advice as well as meeting new friends through the broader social program. Mentors have experienced the transition to life at Monash University and know how it feels to arrive in a new place. Student mentors also really appreciate the assistance they were given as a new student and would like to make a similar contribution.
