Extending your stay in AustraliaStudent visas are normally issued to be valid for a period of 1 -- 3 months beyond the end of semester for which the student is enrolled. Students wishing to extend their stay in Australia once they have completed studies will need to apply for a tourist visa. Tourist visas are granted as long as students do not have an 8534 or 8535 condition on their student visa (see Department of Immigration and Citizenship website). Students will need to provide a letter confirming completion of studies with their application for extension of stay in Australia. Further information about tourist visas can be found on the Visitors webpage, Department of Immigration and Citizenship web page. |
