Cambodia collections

The Cambodia Collections consist of a selection of digitised materials from the Norodom Sihanouk Archival Collection, David Chandler Cambodia Collection, Noel Deschamps Cambodia Collection, and William and Sarah Thomas Collection. The collections are part of the Library's Asian Collections.

  • The Norodom Sihanouk Archival Collection includes documents, photos, music and journals from the personal collection of the former King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk (1941-55 and 1993-2004). Sihanouk bequeathed part of his personal archives to Monash University in 2004.
  • The David Chandler Cambodia Collection is a major archival collection on modern Cambodian history comprising the personal research papers of Professor David Chandler, Emeritus Professor of History at Monash University and former Director of Monash's Centre of Southeast Asian Studies.
  • The Noel Deschamps Cambodia Collection includes some of the personal papers of the former Australian Ambassador to Cambodia (1962-69).
  • The William and Sarah Thomas Collection is a collection of photographs taken at the funeral of King Norodom Suramarit of Cambodia (the father of King Norodom Sihanouk) in 1960 by American diplomat, William Thomas.
