Monash College Pty Ltd provides a suite of pathway options for international students into Monash University

Monash College Pty Ltd (MCPL) is a wholly owned company of Monash University. Established in 1994, MCPL consists of four business units: Monash College, Monash University Foundation Year, Monash University English Language Centre and Professional Pathways Australia.

Overview of MCPL

Monash College

Monash College is a pathway provider to Monash University. Its diplomas prepare students for, and are equivalent to, undergraduate study. Successful students are guaranteed entry into first or second year of Monash University study.

The college delivers diplomas in the fields of art and design, arts, business and engineering.

Monash University Foundation Year

Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) is a 10 month academic program that prepares international students for first year study at university. The curriculum and assessment tasks are developed and moderated by Monash University academics.

The Foundation Year program is offered in Australia, China (in 2010), Indonesia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

Monash University English Language Centre

Monash University English Language Centre (MUELC) provides a broad spectrum of high quality English language and learning support services including: English language courses for international students, academic transition programs, a testing centre and a consulting service.

MUELC operates an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) testing centre. IELTS is internationally recognised and is used as a measure of English language proficiency by educational institutions, employers, professional organisations and government agencies.

MUELC’s Education Planning and Development unit provides a consulting service for universities, government agencies, businesses and international institutions with language challenges.

Services can be delivered within the client’s country and may include executive training, customised industry specific business language courses or study groups. Study groups involve short-term experiences at Monash in a custom-made learning program.

Professional Pathways Australia

Professional Pathways Australia (PPA) is the preferred supplier of internship programs for Monash University, and also works closely with other leading universities in Australia and overseas.

Business communication and Australian workplace skills are incorporated into the programs to foster greater awareness of workplace language and culture.

In addition, PPA offers international internships to Australian students or graduates seeking an outbound program in Europe, North America, or Asia.

Student experience and support services

MCPL's support services ensure students achieve academic success in a supportive, friendly and balanced environment.

The unique range of support services include:

Student Life - a range of information, advice, health and support services including social and cultural activities.

Independent Learning Centre - comprehensive learning resources including academic advisers, grammar and pronunciation texts, and reading skills packages.

Homestay Accommodation Services - places international students with Australian host families to provide care to students and enrich the cultural and social experience.

Monash University Student Support - MCPL students have access to all support facilities provided by Monash University campuses.
