More employment opportunities for Monash graduates

Future graduates with a Monash College Diploma completed in China will benefit from a new internship agreement with the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited China Branch (ANZ China).

The agreement will allow new Monash College in China graduates to take an internship at ANZ in China during their vacation break before starting a degree at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

The Principal Monash College Programs – Guangzhou, China, Nicholas Grigoriou, noted that many Chinese students took undergraduate studies outside of China to improve their employment opportunities when they returned home. Twenty-nine percent of all returning Chinese overseas university graduates, however, are unable find work within six months of completing their course.

The agreement is part of a Monash initiative to increase graduate employability, ensuring that they have work-relevant skills when they complete their degree. Internships and relevant work experience are desirable to employers and help to distinguish Monash graduates in employment market. Monash degrees are also highly-valued in the global workforce.

An internship at the ANZ will give graduates first-hand experience in the banking and finance industry. In addition, successful interns may be considered for a professional career at ANZ in China after completing their Monash University degree.

Interns will also have access to personal banking and finances in Australia with ANZ ahead of their study in Melbourne, including a range of services exclusive to international students.

Since Monash College programs were first offered in China in 2001, over 260 students have completed their studies and have continued to second year undergraduate studies at Monash University in Australia.

此次的成功合作不仅得益于蒙纳士大学（Monash University）在澳洲乃至全球的影响力，更在于蒙纳士学院的优秀教育质量。据悉，自蒙纳士学院广州校区2001落户广州以来，已有260余名毕业生顺利升读澳大利亚蒙纳士大学二年级。蒙纳士学院中国广州校区相关负责人表示，出国留学是为了更好得就业，然而上了国外的好大学不等于就能顺利就业。一项统计表明，有累计71％的海归是在归国后6个月内才找到工作，海归就业压力逐渐呈现出上升的趋势。而此种情况并没有波及来自蒙纳士的毕业生，他们在企业中声誉极高，杰出校友遍及全球。在这一点上，蒙纳士学院广州校区不仅为学生提供最便捷的通往世界名校的留学之路，并致力于引领学生走向人生的真正成功。此次合作，不仅可以帮助学生们通过假期实习，获得直接进入顶尖银行正式工作的机会，还可以积累宝贵的工作经验，在求职简历上添上华丽的一笔；对于银行来说，如果在实习期间即发掘出高综合素质的员工，也能有效实现人才聚合。

据悉，协议还包括为在澳大利亚继续学习的蒙纳士学院广州校区的学生提供澳新银行的金融产品和服务时提供便利。通过澳新银行的“留学生银行”服务，留学生可以在赴澳之前就与澳洲的银行建立联系，安全地将本人的生活费以电汇的方式事先汇往澳洲，并享受优惠的留学生账户费率。这样既解除了众家长不放心学生携带现金之忧又减少了将来汇学费生活费周转的麻烦。（丁丁）
