UNDERSTANDING HUMAN BEHAVIOUR (MCD6030)

Purpose

This unit is designed to develop an understanding of the human mind and to enable students to apply skills to a range of behavioural and cognitive issues.

Nil

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Be aware of the complexity of human behaviour and have an appreciation of the issues related to understanding and measuring some of these behaviours.
  2. Be aware of some of the theories which attempt to explain human processes, particularly those related to perception, consciousness, learning, memory, motivation, emotion, thinking, disorders and therapy.
  3. Be able to relate theories of human behaviour to their own life experiences and possible areas of future work.
