Monash College Sri Lanka – Student FacilitiesAs a Monash College student you are entitled to full access of a wide range of learning and student facilities including:
CampusThe ANC campus, a six storey building is located in the city of Colombo, and is a state-of-the-art facility housing lecture rooms, a computer laboratory, student lounge, a writing and math lab, and faculty and administrative offices. ANC's modern facilities are state-of-the-art. It also houses a growing library along with a modern and up-to-date science laboratory. Students have Internet access and a wide range of co-curricular activities, like the Interact Club, art club and sporting groups, are also available to students. Library and Resource CentreThe Monash College library is equipped with approximately 2,000 volumes, consisting of both traditional hard-copy text books and periodicals and virtual volumes (electronic books) on CD. Subject related magazines and daily national and regional newspapers are also available. Through your Authcate account Monash College students are entitled to use all Monash library services available at its eight libraries across the six Australian campuses. In total, the libraries carry more than 2.6 million items and provide access to thousands of additional resources via electronic networks such as: Through ANC students also have free membership access to two excellent international resource facilities in Colombo, at the American Centre and the British Council. These combined resources give students access to approximately 50,000 additional volumes and, currently, 8 online databases of nearly unlimited virtual resources. Both facilities are within 1/2 mile of the college. Lecture roomsThe ANC campus houses 12 lecture rooms and special purpose rooms, all of which have been fixed with computer and audio-visual equipment such as overhead projectors and multi-media presentation facilities. Classes have comfortable seating and are fully air-conditioned. Health Science and Engineering laboratoriesThis laboratory is part of the course requirement and is fully certifiable to cater all major science and engineering disciplines. This state-of-the-art laboratory located on the third floor of the building accommodates 32 students at individual work stations and is comparable to any Monash university lab. Computer laboratoriesState-of-the-art computer equipment is available in 4 specialized computer labs with a total of 65 computers. Students also have controlled access to printing, scanning and the Internet. Writing laboratoriesThe writing tutorial center and mathematics tutorial center are located on the second floor of the ANC campus building. Students can make appointments to visit the English and math tutors at any time during the trimester. Student loungeSituated on the fourth floor, this comfortable space is ideal for rest and relaxation for students between classes. The lounge has a range of entertainment facilities, including televisions (with cable service), a pool table and a cafeteria.
