Can't delete linked gradebook columns in copied sections
Symptoms
Can't delete Gradebook columns in copied sections because the original Gradebook was linked to an assignment when the copy was done.
Severity
Low
You will not be able to delete Gradebook columns in copies of sections if the original Gradebook was linked to an assignment at the time that the copy was created. This is because the copy will include a status flag suggesting the gradebook is linked, even though the assignment itself was not copied over to the new section. If the system thinks a Gradebook is linked to an assignment, you won't be able to delete Gradebook columns.

Resolution
The vendor is aware of the issue, but does not consider it a bug. However, Blackboard is aware that we consider the logic of this behaviour as being less than optimal and so they may look at it in the future.
Workaround
Unlink all assignments before copying a section, if you want to be able to delete columns from the new rolled over section. If necessary, contact MUSO Support.
