To specify the principles guiding admission to Monash University courses and units of study.
Applicants for admission to Monash University courses (except HDR courses), units and enabling programs.
This policy is to be read in conjunction with the Statute and Regulations governing admission to courses and units of study at Monash University.
Monash University aims to attract, select and complete a diverse range of the most capable students. To achieve this Monash has established the following:
1. University minimum entrance requirements to ensure students have the age, English language proficiency and academic preparation and skills for success at Monash.
2. The capacity for course specific admission requirements to ensure students have the knowledge and skills to undertake in a particular study program successfully.
3. Selection processes that fairly and objectively assess the relative merit of eligible applicants, taking into consideration prior achievement and equality of opportunity in a transparent and consistent way.
Academic Board will receive reports about participation, progress and completion by student cohorts that inform admission standards.
Academic Board may delegate its powers with regards to admissions – see attached.
