Regulations
1. The schools listed in the schedule are multi-departmental schools.
2.1 There
shall be a managing faculty of each multi-departmental school as follows -
2.1.1 in the case of a school comprising members from one faculty only,
the faculty concerned is the managing faculty; and
2.1.2 in the case of a school comprising members from more than one
faculty, the Council must specify one of the faculties concerned to
be the managing faculty.
3.1 There shall be a head of each multi-departmental school who shall
be appointed by, and may at any time be removed by, the Council.
3.2 The provisions of section 4, other than paragraph 4.1.1, of part
II of the Faculties regulations apply to and in relation to multi-departmental
schools as if a multi-departmental school were a school of a faculty
within the meaning of that part and for this purpose -
3.2.1 a managing faculty is the relevant faculty;
3.2.2 the dean of a managing faculty is the relevant dean; and
3.2.3 a reference to a faculty board of a faculty is a reference to
the board of a managing faculty.
4.1 The faculty board of the managing faculty of a multi-departmental
school may appoint a board of the school with such powers and duties
and comprising such members as the faculty board, on the recommendation
of a majority of the members of the multi-departmental school, determines.
4.2 Despite subsection 4.1, the board of a multi-departmental school
must include at least one student member.
4.3 Where a person is to take or has taken office as a member of the
board of a multi-departmental school but is not otherwise a member of
the school, that person is deemed to be a member of the school while
he or she holds that office.
5. Except as otherwise provided in these regulations, Statute 1.2
- Meetings applies to meetings of a multi-departmental school and its
board.
