Awards regulations


1. Degrees

The degrees that may be conferred by the Council on students of the faculty are:

  • Master of Arts (Craft) (MA(Craft))

  • Master of Arts (Visual Arts) (MA(VisArts))

  • Bachelor of Arts (Ceramic Design)

  • (BA(CeramicDesign))

  • The honours degree of Bachelor of Arts (Ceramic Design) (BA(CeramicDesign)(Hons))

  • Bachelor of Arts (Craft) (BA(Craft))

  • The honours degree of Bachelor of Arts (Craft) (BA(Craft)(Hons))

  • Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (BA(Fine Art))

  • The honours degree of Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (BA(FineArt)(Hons))

  • Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design)(BA(GraphDesign))

  • The honours degree of Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design) (BA(GraphDesign)(Hons))

  • Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) (BA(Vis Arts))

  • Bachelor of Technology (Industrial Design) (BTech(IndDesign))

  • The honours degree of Bachelor of Technology (Industrial Design) (BTech(IndDesign)(Hons))

2. Diplomas



The diplomas that may be awarded by the Council to students of the faculty is:
  • Graduate Diploma of Arts (Visual Arts) (GradDipArts(VisArts))

  • Graduate Diploma (Ceramic Design) (GradDip(CeramicDesign))

  • Graduate Diploma (Fine Art) (GradDip(FineArt))

  • Diploma of Introductory Undergraduate Studies (DipIntUgStudies)


3. Saving of rights

A degree or diploma that has been deleted from section 1 or 2 may nevertheless be conferred or awarded by the Council on or to any person who has satisfied the requirements for, but not graduated with, the particular degree or diploma.


4. Commencement

These regulations come into effect on the repeal of sections 1 and 2 of Statute 6.1.2 - Courses and degrees.
