Master of Laws(Research)

1. Degree

In these regulations "degree' means the degree of Master of Laws (Research).

2. The degree may be undertaken in the faculty pursuant to -

2.1.1 these regulations; and

2.1.2 the Masters Degrees by Research regulations of the Research Graduate School Committee.

3. Admission to candidature

An applicant for admission to candidature must -

3.1.1 have qualified in the faculty for the degree of Bachelor of Laws with honours; or

3.1.2 hold a legal qualification from the university or another educational institution deemed equivalent or a satisfactory substitute by the faculty board.

4. Extension of candidature

The faculty board may, at the request of a candidate before the due completion date, grant an extension of candidature for a maximum period of three months in the case of full-time, and six months in the case of part-time, candidature.
