3.8 Unsatisfactory progress and exclusion

Exclusion for health/disability reasons

In addition to exclusion as a result of disciplinary action, a student may have their enrolment suspended or be refused enrolment or re-enrolment in a course or unit by reason of their state of health or disability if the dean of the relevant faculty is of the opinion that such action is reasonably necessary to protect the health or safety of any person (including the person concerned) or the property of the University. For further details refer to ‘Statute 6.3 – Exclusion for health reasons’ at http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/calendar/statutes/Statute06. html#Heading56.

Exceptions to the information in this section

The following information on unsatisfactory progress and exclusion relates to all students excepting those students in Faculty of Engineering coursework programs, who should refer to the specific entry below for that faculty. Additionally, at the Monash South Africa campus, disciplinary
proceedings are handled locally according to the Monash South Africa Discipline Policy, which is an approved variation to the ‘University Statute 4.1 – Discipline’. Monash South Africa students should seek advice from the Student Service Centre on-campus about unsatisfactory progress and exclusion proceedings.
