Alumni achievers
Monash University Chancellor and Honorary Patron of Monash Alumni Advisory Group, Dr Alan Finkel AM recently announced the recipients of the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Green homecoming
A community leader and Monash graduate who helped inspire thousands of Victorians to reduce their water and energy consumption has joined the University's sustainability team.

Dr Cave
A doctor with a difference has joined the ranks of Monash University's 200,000 strong alumni. Internationally-renowned musician, filmmaker and actor Nick Cave can now add the title Dr Cave to his eclectic resume after receiving an honorary doctorate of laws.

Life skills
They deal with the most severe medical emergencies, victims of road, rail and air disasters, house fires and crime. They are elite Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedics, unique to Victoria. They are trained by Monash University.
