About MWAC
Welcome to Monash Weather and Climate, Monash University’s expert team on all things weather and climate. We are a large research group that combines the expertise of atmospheric and climate scientists of the School of Mathematical Sciences and the School of Geography and Environmental Science to tackle problems related to some of mankind’s greatest challenges: predicting the weather and climate from days to weeks to months to years and centuries ahead and to help understand the implications of climate change for Australia and the world at large. Weather and climate affect all sectors of society and we carry out our research in close collaboration with researchers from across the Monash community through the Monash Sustainability Institute and around Australia as a member of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science. Our research activities have recently received the highest rating of an “outstanding performance well above world standard” in the Australian Research Council's "Excellence in Research for Australia" (ERA) report, making us the leading university-based research group in Atmospheric Science in Australia.

We offer a variety of courses in Atmospheric and climate science at undergraduate and graduate level. We also offer many opportunities for researchers to join and interact with our team at various levels. So if you are a prospective undergraduate or graduate student, a researcher looking for collaborative research or even a new home, please enjoy exploring our site and feel free to contact us and become a member of the ever growing Monash Weather and Climate community.
