Monash Micro Imaging is a national imaging facility that offers world-leading expertise and training in advanced optical and electron microscopy (EM).

Our facility gives researchers access to the latest microscopes, as well as the expert instruction to tap into their full potential. We also enable researchers to carry out their own research imaging independently.

We offer training, research support and project development in the areas of:

  • Optical and fluorescence microscopy
  • Confocal microscopy
  • Live cell imaging
  • Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)
  • Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
  • Cryo methods for tissue preparation
  • Digital imaging and image analysis

Our two main labs – Bio EM and Advanced Optical Imaging – are located on the Clayton campus. We also operate external nodes in partnership with our leading health precincts (MHTP and AMREP).
