  • Australian Phenomics Network (APN)

    The Australian Phenomics Network (APN) provides Australian and international researchers with transgenic models for the study of human and animal disease. Monash is host to the Embryonic Stem (ES) Cell to Mouse and Cryopreservation nodes. Twelve Australian facilities and institutions contribute their infrastructure and expertise to the APN. Established in 2007, the APN brings together multiple partner services with world-class infrastructure and expertise for the creation, characterisation and cryopreservation of mouse models for the study of human disease.

  • Be Active Sleep Eat (BASE)

    The BASE facility provides the ideal environment for high quality research, between industry and academia, which contributes to advancing the science of nutrition, sleep and physical activity. The facility comprises of a sleep laboratory, a commercial kitchen, exercise and fitness studio and consulting suites. The team can help food businesses with feasibility studies; proof of concept; proof of efficacy; identify health claims; design and conduct human intervention trials following Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

  • Monash Bioinformatics Platform

    The Monash Bioinformatics Platform exists to create a hub for bioinformatics activities at Monash. We have a core group of bioinformaticians with broad expertise and are building a loosely linked community of bioinformaticians across all of Monash. We are always available to help with specialist advice on experimental design or analysis. We also collaborate with groups around Monash on specific research projects. We also teach scientists bioinformatics analysis skills through our hands on training workshops.

  • Centre for Drug Candidate Optimisation (CDCO)

    The Centre for Drug Candidate Optimisation (CDCO) is a collaborative research centre based within the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences that undertakes drug candidate optimisation to accelerate and enhance drug discovery and development for commercial, not-for-profit and academic research organisations. Drug candidate optimisation is a critical value-creating step in drug discovery/development which enhances the future developmental and commercial potential of candidate drugs through optimisation of their metabolic, physicochemical, pharmacokinetic and bioavailability properties.

  • Centre for Human Anatomy Education 3D Printing Laboratory (CHAE3D)

    Centre for Human Anatomy Education 3D Printing Laboratory (CHAE3D) provides three-dimensional modelling and printing facilities within Monash University’s Centre for Human Anatomy Education. The facility focuses of creating 3D printed anatomical specimens for use in teaching medical anatomy, but is also available for external print jobs. We are able to provide full colour laser scanning technology, organise CT scanning and 3D print models in both full colour gypsum or plastic materials or single colour ABS plastic.

  • Ramaciotti Centre for Cryo-Electron Microscopy

    The Monash Ramaciotti Centre is a leading facility for life sciences electron microscopy. It houses Australia’s first Titan Krios microscope, currently the most advanced microscope for biological EM. The facility’s expert team supports and collaborates on a large number of bio EM techniques ranging from standard SEM and TEM to immuno EM, correlative light and electron microscopy, cryo tomography and single particle analysis.

  • Monash Molecular Crystallisation Facility (MMCF)

    Macromolecular crystallography provides unparalleled details of the 3D structures of biological macromolecules and provides the basis for the rational design of therapeutics. The Monash Macromolecular Crystallisation Facility delivers access to a fully automated platform for the high-throughput crystallisation of biological macromolecules. The use of robotics allows for miniaturisation of crystallisation experiments, which enables screening of a wide range of conditions with/from limited sample volumes.

  • Monash eResearch Centre (MeRC)

    eResearch is 21st century research discovery through the application of advanced computing and IT. The Monash eResearch Centre partners with research groups to accelerate and transform knowledge, connecting them to the most appropriate hardware, software and services to sustain that capability. It leads a number of national and international eResearch initiatives and has links with: AuScope, MASSIVE and the Monash Bioinformatics and Immersive Visualisation platforms.

  • The ARMI FishCore facility is the largest zebrafish facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere, consisting of 1000 quarantine tanks and 5200 main facility tanks (non quarantine). It houses genetically modified and mutant strains of zebrafish to model a variety of human diseases and conditions. Additional services include a sperm freezing and rederivation service for any long term storage requirements. FishCore is also currently running a pilot system to house axolotl and shark embryos for research, with the intention of developing larger scale facilities in the future.
