Special Issue of Psychiatry, Psychology & Law

The Initiative is facilitating the production of a special issue of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law, the journal of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law (ANZAPPL), focussing on arson offenders and legal issues. The special issue will include a number of review articles canvassing risk assessment and treatment of juvenile firesetters, risk assessment of recidivist adult firesetters, Australian approaches to arson legislation, theoretical explanations for firesetting. It will also include some new empirical research conducted examining female juvenile arsonists. The issue will be published by Taylor and Francis in early in 2011.

ANZAPPL was established in the late 1970s and is committed to exploring the rlationshp between psychiatry, psychology and law. Further information about ANZAPPL can be found at www.anzappl.org.
