What to do if Successful: ARC - Monash and Collaborating Organisation Multi Institutional Agreement

  • ARC Discovery Projects (DP) Grants - Multi-Institutional Agreement (doc 108kb)
  • ARC Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) - Multi-Institutional Agreement (doc 159kb)

The Funding Agreements for ARC Discovery Projects (DP) and Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) state that Projects must not commence, nor Funding be expended, until the University has entered into a written partner agreement with relevant Organisations.

For Discovery Projects (DP) an agreement is required with each Australian Collaborating Organisation where Collaborating Organisation is defined as any organisation which is identified in the Proposal as a contributor to the project.

For Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) a Collaborating Organisation means any Organisation, which is a contributor to a Project.

The requirements for the multi-institutional agreements are set out in the relevant ARC Funding Agreements (clause 10). The template agreements available here have been developed in conjunction with research office staff across the Group of 8 universities taking into account the ARC requirements. It is hoped that the use of common templates across institutions will assist in streamlining and simplifying approval processes.

It is the responsibility of the grantee to obtain the relevant signatures from collaborating institutions and forward the agreements to the Monash Research Office (MRO) for signing by Monash University. The grantee should ensure that sufficient copies are created so that each institution will receive a copy of the agreement with original signatures. Once all copies are signed, MRO will forward the additional copies to the relevant organisations.

Any questions regarding multi-institution agreements should be directed to the ARC Team at arc@adm.monash.edu.au.
