The Future Fellowships scheme provides funding for outstanding mid-career researchers. Fellowships have a 4-year duration and are open to both Australian and overseas researchers. Successful candidates are required to obtain the necessary temporary or permanent residency before commencing their Fellowship. The Fellowship may be taken up at more than one organisation; information must be included in the Proposal and approved by the ARC. Applicants may only nominate twice in the period 2009-2013.

2. Keep up to date with Monash Research Office information sessions and updates

3. Read the ARC rules and instructions

It is critical that you read through the Funding Rules and Instructions to Applicants to understand the application process and requirements.

4. Complete the application form in RMS

Please ensure you consult the Monash tip sheets, FAQs and budget information when completing the application.

  • Strategic Statement
    • *Download and complete the Strategic Statement Template (doc 43kb)*
    • Draft the statement, in consultation with your academic mentor, ADR, FAO.
    • Resources to assist with drafting the Strategic Statements are available on the Guidance Material page
    • Pass on to your Head of Department, then ADR who will fill in the sections you cannot (eg, information about Monash’s strategic priorities, high level detail about the eminent researchers or major infrastructure available in your area
    • Submit your draft Strategic Statement to your Faculty Research Office (check the internal deadline). They will then submit your Strategic Statement to the MRO by Wednesday 9 November, 2011
    • The Office of the DVC(R) will edit statements, addressing University level alignment and providing feedback.

5. Validate and submit the form

Complete the validation check of the application form. Once the form has been validated successfully, save each page of the RMS form and generate a PDF (on the Draft Proposal Summary page) and click "Submit proposal to research office" in RMS.

 

6. Complete the ARC Certification Proforma

Complete the certification form abd return to the Monash Research Office with your draft application.

7. Complete the Monash Research Office coversheet

Ensure that this is signed by the relevant Head of School and Associate Dean (Research). For internal applicants, go to the online Monash Research Office Coversheet form. For external applicants, download the pdf version.

8. Submit one full copy of the application to the Monash Research Office by 9th November 2011.

  1. Strategic Statement must be submitted through your Faculty Office, the MRO will not accept direct submissions.’
  2. Submit the full proposal electronically via RMS (click 'submit the proposal to the research office')
  3. Notify the MRO via email (arc@monash.edu) that you have submitted your complete draft
  4. Submit hard copies of the signed Certification Form and Monash Research Office cover sheet. You can also scan and email the signed forms to arc@monash.edu

Note: Faculty Research Offices may have earlier submission dates for sign-off and review. You need to check any applicable dates.

9. Final Submission

Following the review of your application, and subsequent amendment, Final Submission is electronic via RMS.

The MRO will submit to the ARC on your behalf.

If you wish to request the exclusion of particular individuals as potential assessors of your Proposal you must complete and submit a Request Not to Assess form to the MRO before the final submission date.
