Evolutionary ecology is the study of the ecological basis of adaptation in organisms. As an Evolutionary Ecologist, Martin investigates life-history evolution, behaviour, and reproduction in a variety of plants and animals. 

Current research topics include:

  • Sex allocation in Selaginella
  • Sexual dimorphism in flowers
  • Pollinator vision and floral color adaptations
  • Reproductive ecology in Acacia
  • Biogeographic patterns of floral ovule number in angioserms
