Scholarships are offered to students who are high achieving, experiencing disadvantage and a combination of both. They are divided into three broad categories.

1. Merit (academic achievement)

Current Monash students are assessed for scholarships using a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of all units completed at Monash, unless otherwise specified.

2. Equity (disadvantage)

We want to help you make the most of your talent. If studying at Monash feels out of reach for financial, geographical, cultural or personal reasons, you might consider applying for an equity scholarship or bursary for domestic students. You may need to provide supporting documentation to substantiate your claim.

Equity scholarships are awarded to students who come from one or more of our defined equity or personal disadvantage groups.

3. Merit and equity

Merit and equity scholarships are awarded to students who have both excellent academic achievements and who have also experienced some form of disadvantage during their education, based on the one or more of our defined equity or personal disadvantage groups.
