Israel

Visa
Students who are Australian citizens and who are planning to study in Israel for less than 1 year are allowed to enter Israel on a tourist visa which they can obtain on arrival.  However, to ensure a smooth arrival, you are advised to obtain a visitor visa from the Israeli Embassy in Canberra before leaving Australia.
Students who are not Australian citizens should check the visa requirements with the Israeli Embassy.

 
Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Level:  Undergraduate & Postgraduate (Law - Undergraduate only)
Language:  Most teaching at Hebrew University is in Hebrew but the Faculty of Law offers a wider range of units in English (see link below).
Semester Dates: 
  First semester:       early November - early January 
  Second semester:   early March - late June
Full Time Study Load:  20 credits per semester (usually 10 courses)

Other:   Monash exchange students can only study at Hebrew University in Monash second semester (i.e. Hebrew University's first semester).

Other: It is essential to have advanced Hebrew proficiency prior to studies at Technion. Hebrew language courses are offered prior to start of winter semester (beginners level) and during winter and spring semesters (advanced level).
 
Tel Aviv University
Faculties:  All
Level:  Undergraduate and postgraduate
Language:  Most teaching at Tel Aviv is in Hebrew but the Faculty of  Law offers a wider range of units in English (see link below).  Tel Aviv does not offer Hebrew language studies for credit but intensive Hebrew programs are available on campus for a fee.
Semester Dates:
  First semester:       early November - late January
  Second semester:  early March - mid June
Full Time Study Load:  A full load of credits is 12-14 credits which is about 6-7 courses.

Other:  The Lowy School for Overseas Students is a separate program taught entirely in English but exchange students can take only one unit in that program.  If you want to do more you will have to pay the Lowy School tuition fees.  Some scholarships are available through the Australian Friends of Tel Aviv University and details can be found on the Lowy School  webpage.
