Monash University's Parkville campus is home to the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The campus has recently undergone a $50 million redevelopment, with new world-class research laboratories and innovative virtual practice environments. These new teaching facilities expose students to professional practice settings, such as hospitals, community and industry.
Also located on the Parkville campus is the new Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences that comprises the largest and most experienced group of pharmaceutical scientists in Australia. The Australian Research Council's Excellence in Research for Australia assessment rated our pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences research, and nanotechnology research, as 5/5 - indicating that the research is 'well above world standard'.
Located on Royal Parade in the heart of Australia's premier health and biomedical precinct, only three kilometres from the city centre, Parkville is close to many shops and services. Nearby are the vibrant and multicultural Sydney Road and Lygon Street, where staff and students have easy access to banks, supermarkets, medical centres and cafes.
