How to apply - undergraduate and honours

To apply to study a full-time undergraduate course or honours year at Monash, follow this easy step-by-step guide. If you already know what you need to do, apply online.

If you are an international student currently studying Year 12/VCE or the International Baccalaureate (in Australia), apply through VTAC.

Step 1: Choose your course

Use the Monash Course Finder to find the right course for you. You can also look at pathways to Monash University through Monash College or the Monash University English Language Centre.

Step 2: Check the entry requirements

Make sure you check the entry requirements and prerequisites of all courses.

If you have passed subjects at other institutions with satisfactory grades, you may be able to apply for credit transfer.

Step 3: Have your documents ready

To apply, you will need:

  • a valid email address
  • details of the course you want to apply for (name, code, and start date)
  • your academic transcripts
  • evidence that you meet the English language requirements.
  • credit card details (you will need to pay a AUD $100 non-refundable application fee)
  • a certified copy of your passport.

Extra documents

If you are applying for credit for prior learning, you need to provide documents to support this. These documents may include official transcripts or results from previous studies and copies of subject outlines. Please note that credits transferred may affect the duration of your course, which could affect your visa.

Some courses may require you to submit other documents, such as details of relevant work experience. You can check your course's entry requirements in Course Finder.

Document translations

If your documents are in a language other than English, you will need to supply official certified translations of the documents.

Step 4: Register and apply

Online

First you need to create an online application account. You will get an account ID sent to your email address.

Follow the link in your email to log in and start your online application.
